love poem



In love, nothing exists between heart and heart.
Speech is born out of longing,
True description from the real taste.
The one who tastes, knows;
the one who explains, lies.
How can you describe the true form of Something
In whose presence you are blotted out?
And in whose being you still exist?
And who lives as a sign for your journey?

bullet Rabi'ah al-Adawiyya, a major spiritual influence in the classical Islamic world, is one of the central figures of the spiritual tradition. She was born around the year 717 C.E. in what is now Iraq.

the essence of this poem is simply my guiding light.... although there are times that I have strayed far away from it....deep in my heart silence spoken out louder then words.

I do not know the poet but seems to know the poem...will look her up when I have a chance.
